Work & Education History
OFGEM (November 2022 - Present)
In November 2022 I began my current role as a software developer at Ofgem. I work on developing the website for the feed-in tariffs scheme, which is used by people at Ofgem as well as by external energy suppliers. This website is currently being redeveloped so that the frontend is built in ASP.NET Core Razor Pages rather than the legacy AngularJS 1 framework as it is currently, and the backend is built in ASP.NET Framework 4.8. I work with testers to ensure that the code meets the requirements and is as stable as possible before going into production. Azure DevOps is used for tasks such as managing sprint tickets, creating pull requests, and creating project documentation.

Bridewell Consulting (August 2021 - November 2022)
In August 2021 I started working at Bridewell Consulting. Here I developed C# web applications in a team, allowing cybersecurity consultants to assess various aspects of a client companies’ cyber security measures and whether or not they are sufficiently compliant. These applications run in the cloud, and use infrastructure-as-code in order to deploy the necessary resources. When developing these applications I also wrote unit tests and integration tests, where I used Selenium to automate frontend user testing, making processes such as filling in assessments much quicker.

Ultra Electronics (September 2020 - May 2021)
After finishing my masters degree at Southampton I began working for Ultra Electronics Sonar Systems in Weymouth as a graduate software engineer. Here I worked on updating requirements and design documentation so that they reflected the latest changes in current hardware and software, as well as amending any errors present. I also fixed software defects for the sonar system software that is maintained by a team of senior software engineers.

Sky Subscribers Limited (June 2019 - August 2019)
After graduating from Stirling University I worked as an intern for Sky Subscribers Limited. During the internship I worked in a team building unit and integration tests for a component of the service software relating to sales. This also involved activities such as test code coverage checking, running build pipelines, and deploying docker containers. I also learnt to work in a scrum development environment, involving daily stand-ups and sprint reviews.
